~*Puthandu Vazthukal*~

yesterday nite, we were really privileged to be invited by Mr.Nava to witness my first Tamil's New Year. i didn't even know it was a new year till i got there. i thought it was jus some random festival that was being celebrated. new year is a meaningful time of celebration between frens and families throughout the world. so who says friday the 13th is a bad day. it's the best day afterall. the house was loaded with nice Indian delicacies which ranges from savory to sweet dishes and snacks.

*putu mayam*

i guess only indian foods tat i know are briyani, roti canai, sheesh kebab, lassi. i think tat's about it. less than 5 definitely. definitely a country bumpkin when it comes to Indian cruisine. seriously can't remember all the other names of the food besides this plain looking but deliciously tasting 'putu mayam'. i thought it was vermicelli noodles and i was actually looking for soup to go with it. actually it's vermicelli-like noodles which are steamed and served with grated coconut or gula melaka and it's yummy. *thumbs up*. i've seen these in random hawker stalls in penang but kept thinking tat it's normal typical chinese vermicelli so never bothered trying it. well at least i learnt something new today :) like what they say in life, you always learn something new today so always look forward to a new day to absorb new knowledge :)
